Feast of the Dormition Celebration 2009

The Serbian churches and Fr. Elias from St. Basil's Antiochian Church, came together to celebrate the Dormition of the Mother of God. This was the first time these churches have come together for a common Liturgy in their history. Friday August 28, 2009 on the feast of the Dormiton of the Mother of God, for first time in history of the Serbian Orthodox churches in Kansas City, a common Liturgy was served. It was a historic day for the churches, St. George(Fr. Alex), St. Michael's (Fr. Mihailo), and St. Mary of Egypt(Fr. Paisius). Joining in the celebration was Fr. Elias from St. Basil's Antiochian church. After Litugy and a common meal we took a tour of St. Basil's beautiful new church building at 94th and Riverside in Kansas City, Kansas. It was a joyous day to experience a new unity and new future for the church in Kansas City.
